ATTENTION:
In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, we will remain open and will temporarily be seeing most of our patients remotely by telephone consultation. Patients may call the office during the hours of 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week, to consult with a physician. In order to maintain a safe environment for our patients and our staff, only patients with minor traumatic injuries, such as lacerations, potential fractures, abscesses, etc, and who require routine physical exams, including immigration physicals, and who have no symptoms of coronavirus infection, will be allowed into our office, one at a time. All other patients who are sick will be evaluated by the doctor from the safety of their cars or their homes by telephone. We are able to administer routine tests and medication injections to patients in their cars. We want you to know that we are here to continue providing the highest quality of medical care possible to all of our patients in these very extraordinary times. Please stay safe at all times.

Mission Statement

We began as Greenwich Convenient Medical Center in 1988, as the first urgent and walk-in medical center located in Riverside, CT serving all of Greenwich and the surrounding areas. We had a name change to Greenwich Walk-In Medical Center in 2009 and now are Greenwich Family Medicine & Wellness Center as we have expanded our services to include health coaching, nutrition and wellness. We treat every patient as a concierge patient with treatment expanding beyond the initial visit. Yes it is payment at the time of service, so that we can continue providing our patients with the individualized special care that is needed for optimal health. We are a doctor's only practice and our patients know we are available to them 24/7 for the urgent and non urgent medical care.

1) Urgent And Walk-in Medical Care

Telemedicine is now available…The Greenwich Urgent Care And Wellness Center remains open 7 days a week. However, in light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Greenwich Urgent Care And Wellness Center has instituted new policies in order to insure the safety and well-being of our patients and staff. These policies are the following: 1.) Patients are not allowed to enter our office until they have been screened on the telephone to determine that they do not have symptoms of or exposure to the novel coronavirus. 2.) After being cleared to enter our office, only one patient at a time is allowed to enter the office and is immediately taken to an exam room. The waiting room is kept empty at all times. 3.) If another patient comes to the office when a patient is already being seen, they are asked to wait in their car until we call them to come into the office. 4.) For those patients who are unwilling to enter our office inspite of these safety precautions, we are willing to conduct medical consults over the telephone, and we are willing to see patients through the window of their car. We can and have done strept tests, flu tests, administered injections, and performed limited physical exams with the patient sitting safely in their car. 5.) The Greenwich Urgent Care And Wellness Center remains a full service urgent care and family medical center, treating colds, sinus infections, strept throat, ear infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin rashes, boils, abscesses, in-grown toenails, lacerations, trauma, x-rays, lab testing, annual physicals, school physicals, Civil Surgeon-certified immigration physicals, wellness services, and the treatment of chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and much more. Please Note: Patients deemed at risk of having coronavirus who have mild symptoms can be advised and treated over the telephone. Those who have more serious symptoms are referred to the hospital emergency room for testing and treatment.

2) Nutrition Counselling

The goal of nutrition counseling is to help a person make and maintain dietary changes. For a person with a mental disorder, dietary change may be needed to promote healthier eating, to adopt a therapeutic diet, or to avoid nutrient-drug interactions. Nutrition counseling is an integral part of treatment for persons with eating disorders or chemical dependencies. Persons taking certain drugs, such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors, used to treat depression and anxiety disorders, need to follow a tyramine-controlled diet to avoid dietary interference with their medication. Many drugs used to treat mental disorders can cause weight gain or loss, so persons taking these medications may also benefit from nutrition counseling

3) Laboratory Urine Analysis

A urinalysis is a group of physical, chemical, and microscopic tests. The tests detect and/or measure several substances in the urine, such as byproducts of normal and abnormal metabolism, cells, cellular fragments, and bacteria. Urine is produced by the kidneys, two fist-sized organs located on either side of the spine at the bottom of the ribcage. The kidneys filter wastes out of the blood, help regulate the amount of water in the body, and conserve proteins, electrolytes, and other compounds that the body can reuse. Anything that is not needed is eliminated in the urine, traveling from the kidneys through ureters to the bladder and then through the urethra and out of the body. Urine is generally yellow and relatively clear, but each time a person urinates, the color, quantity, concentration, and content of the urine will be slightly different because of varying constituents.

4) Lab Testing

Laboratory tests check a sample of your blood, urine, or body tissues. A technician or your doctor analyzes the test samples to see if your results fall within the normal range. The tests use a range because what is normal differs from person to person. Many factors affect test results.
