S & S Homecraft Inc. was founded in March, 2000 by the husband/ wife team of Steve and Sylvie Hipp. As owner/operators, we strive to maintain a hands on approach. We keep our operation relatively small compared to most home improvemant companies who clamor to sign up multiple jobs with the end result being a compromise in quality. In order to insure quality, efficiency and most of all customer satisfaction, we take one project at a time. This enables us to devote complete attention to all aspects on any given project. Our approach seems to work well, since joining the BBB in 2003 as an Accredited Business, we have received zero complaints and maintain an A+ rating.
A Brief History: As a young man I was employed at Bridgestone/Firestone for approximately five years. I resigned and joined a small framing crew and thus began my career in the construction trade. Early years were spent learning as many aspects of the trade as possible; working hourly, salaried management positions, and subcontracting. I have been in the construction industry since 1976 and over the years have amassed a vast array of skills and perform all impeccably.
In the early 1990's I struck out on my own as a Licensed Home Improvement Contractor. In 1995 my wife and I built our own "dream home" with myself performing every aspect of the construction [except blockwork and shingles]. In 2000 I acquired my General Contractors License which enabled the company to perform larger projects. The recent past has entailed construction of new homes, additions, sunroom/screenrooms, while carving a niche in bathroom and kitchen renovations. My home based cabinet shop enables the construction of custom cabinetry including ornate, fuctional mantles, furniture quality shelving, and even custom bird houses/feeders.

BATHROOM and KITCHEN REMODELING are the two most popular renovations. A bath remodel can consist of basic changes such as painting/wallpaper, vanity/countertop/sink replacement, or towel rod/toilet paper upgrade.

Steve gutted & made 2 custom bathrooms for us. He did a great job. He custom built a pedestal sink for us made out of an antique mahogany pulpit, a slab of granite for the counter top then he put a copper vessel bowl on top. Gorgeous & one of a kind. He also built us a tile shower & built in shelves for more storage & tile floors. He also tiled our kitchen floor. That was a few years ago & he did such a nice job we hired him back to tear down a wall between our living room & hallway to open the space up & he's re-dry walling the hallway, entryway & living room plus he is going to be building us built in shelves into the living room. Thanks for the great job. If we need any other work we'll definitely use him again!

Steve Hipp assisted our family with our home-rebuild, following the May 2010 flood. Steve’s knowledge, expertise and workmanship are truly top-notch. He played a key role not only with ALL aspects of the rebuild (starting from wood studs and concrete floors), while also strategically managing the project to ensure our family was moved back into our home just 3 short months post-flood. We were literally one of the first families in our neighborhood to have our home rebuilt AND fully move-in ready, in such a timely manner. This is LARGELY in part of Steve’s efforts and we are forever grateful to him! It goes without saying we highly recommend Steve for any of your remodeling needs.

Steve gutted & built 2 custom bathrooms for us. He built built-in cabinets into both bathrooms to give us more storage space without taking up any space. He helped us design, and then he built a custom pedestal sink in the master bath made from an antique mahogany pulpit, a granite slab for the counter & a copper vessel bowl for the sink. They did a beautiful job along with both of the tile showers. He also did the tile flooring in our kitchen. He did such a good job that we hired him again to redo all the drywall in our hallways & living room along with taking out a wall. Very trustworthy to work in your home while you are away at work. After 10 years in our home, we decided we needed a new look. Steve gutted our kitchen and completely redesigned my work space. We were continually amazed at the precision of his workmanship. Steve came to our rescue after we had used someone else to do a bathroom remodel in our log home in M'Boro, TN. They left it totally unfinished and the work was poorly done. Steve "worked his magic" on that room and when he was through, that bathroom looked like it should have been pictured in Southern Living. He has a keen eye for detail and it was totally evident to us that Steve takes pride in his work!

This remodeler was professional in all aspects and, just as important the price was more than competitive and affordable. The work performed is excellent and Mr. Hipp is very eager to accommodate and please the client in every aspect. He completely gutted and then rebuilt our bathroom and then laid porcelain tile in the bath, hall and into the kitchen. He arrived promptly every morning to start work and his crew was all very trustworthy. I would definitely use the contractor again and would recommend him highly to anyone.
