In 1997 my husband and I (Neil and Judi Pittman) started Nitro-Green Professional Lawn Care to serve the Huntsville area. We wanted to establish a company that gives outstanding and personal service to our customers. We decided we did not want to have a receptionist take customer calls and then just quote what is company policy.

We, the owners, are in the office full-time to take calls so that we can get to know our customers and quickly address the concerns. Our lawn technicians are trained to apply exactly what your type of grass needs to keep it healthy and then they take the time to blow the granules from walks and drives so they are not tracked into your home. They also use hand cranked spreaders to keep the granules out of backyard pools and off of the patios.

As a part of our normal service, they treat all weeds, even those that are tough to kill, at every visit and there is never an extra charge for any of them, not even nutsedge or dallisgrass.

1) Fertilization And Weed Control

Our standard program consists of eight applications of fertilizer, pre-emergent, and lime. At each service we treat all weeds pressent.

While this is our standard program and the one we think produces the best results, we can taylor the progran to meet your specific needs.

2) Aeration And Overseeding

The heavy clay soil in our area results in a very compacted soil. This makes it difficult for the grass roots to be able to breathe, grow and get nourishment and water. Core aeration at least once a year where plugs are removed from the soil,relieves this compaction.
This makes a large difference in how well the grass does.
Many homes in our area have Fescue grass, which doesn't do well in hot weather. Every summer it thins out and needs to be overseeded in the fall.

Fire ants are those that build large mounds in your yard. Their sting is verv painful and toxic. They have been known to actually kill pets. In our program we apply a product onec a year that kills those present and prevents any from invading your lawn for a year.

5) Insect Control

We provide two applications of a very safe product at about ninety day intervals in the spring and summer to control insects such as fdleas, ticks spiders and others.
