1) Individual Counseling

Each and every human being discovers difficulties at different times over various issues. Individual Counseling is a great way to access assistance in resolving these difficulties or accepting them. Everyone deserves the insight and self-awareness that comes as a result of embarking on the journey of individual counseling.

2) Group Counseling

Group counseling is a form of therapy, which posits that people benefit from shared experiences. Usually group counseling is focused on a particular issue, for example obsessive-compulsive disorder or anger management. While a therapist usually manages group counseling, contributions from other members in the group are considered valuable since all in the group share similar issues.

One of the main principals behind group counseling is the idea that dealing with specific issues may cause isolation, and a feeling that one is alone in facing one’s problems. Group counseling attempts to counteract this isolation by assembling people with similar issues to enforce that difficulties are not singular to one person. Additionally, knowing other people with similar troubles can be comforting to each individual, who may not have access in their own family and friends to people with the same problem.

The clinical staff at South Austin Counseling Services has had a wide array of experience training others in many areas. For instance, one training that is offfered at the corporate level is a self-awareness, team building training. Another example is the Relationships 101 class being taught at our facilities in March. Many other trainings are available, and custom trainings can be developed for whatever the need may be.

The teen years are full of ups and downs, anger and laughter, dating and maintaining academic responsibilities. Teenagers are not miniature adults, even though they look like they are. Famiilies with teens can be stressed to the max.
