After a long day of sight seeing around the Gorge, the bartender at our hotel suggested this place. My wife and I are service industry veterans, and we just wanted a good meal in a comfortable environment. Top notch fried pickles, light and crispy breading, not saturated in fryer grease. House smoked pastrami on a burger patty with Swiss was outstanding. The bartender Jeff was great, he had a full bar and three or four tables, and still had time to make us feel welcome at his bar. We can't wait to visit the Columbia Gorge area again, and we are definitely coming to eat here again. River City Saloon should be on everyone's list of places to go in Hood River.
